Assassin's Creed Reveals Bizarre AoT Crossover for Holiday Season
In a bizarre partnership that defies conventional expectations, Ubisoft has unveiled an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Disclosed
According to the formal announcement, "A strange confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where whispers of prohibited practices and terrifying metamorphoses resonate through the darkness." The plot features a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a hidden group.
The mission centers on "bizarre tests and a fearsome adversary" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Transformations
The trailer showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview concludes with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an special katana alongside several artifacts concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

Third Free Story Content
This update also adds the game's latest free story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive skills: Naoe introduces a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with well-known anime series. The series previously featured a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
